Justin Moehle

Justin Moehle is a Senior Consulting Actuary located in the Greater Minneapolis – Saint Paul Area. His primary focus is multiemployer health and welfare plans. Justin has over 10 years of experience as a consulting actuary.

Relevant Experience

Prior to joining Horizon Actuarial in 2023, Justin spent time at Mercer and Willis Towers Watson where he worked with large corporate clients. Justin is knowledgeable in self-funded benefit plan pricing, estimating incurred but not paid (IBNP) reserves, claims experience reporting, and valuating retiree medical claims costs. He is experienced in strategic planning and has worked with clients across many industries including construction, engineering, health systems, real estate, resorts, restaurants, retail and technology.

Industry Activities

Justin has been a guest speaker at multiple universities, including the Actuarial Society at UC Irvine and the Gamma Iota Sigma Chapter at California State University, Fullerton.

Off the Clock

Justin balances actuarial consulting with his career as a Firefighter for the City of Saint Paul, Minnesota. In his spare time, he enjoys being outdoors in Northern Minnesota with his wife and four children.

Education

Justin is a Fellow of the Society of Actuaries and a Member of the American Academy of Actuaries. He graduated with a Bachelor of Arts in Mathematics and German from Saint John’s University, and an Associate of Science in Fire Technology from Santa Ana College.
